B-Town Brawlers was conceived in October, 2014 as the world’s second truly gender-inclusive roller derby league.
Traditionally in roller derby there are women’s, men’s and co-ed teams, but this may leave people who are non-binary, agender, genderqueer, intersex or transgender in an uncomfortable and vulnerable position where they are forced to play in a team which does not reflect their gender.
We never leave a person behind.
B-Town Brawlers accepts people of any, or no gender and skating ability who want to play sport and take part in the awesomeness of roller derby.
We hope that through our example, Roller Derby governing bodies, other leagues and other teams will eventually alter their gender policies to be genuinely gender-inclusive.
