“I joined the Brawlers a couple of years ago (I think). The league is so much more than a sports club to me. It’s hard to express how supportive the environment is, I guess you just have to come along and experience it for yourself. I had to take over a year out of skating because of an injury but I still felt a part of the team and the community while I wasn’t skating. I truly respect my fellow members and this respect is mirrored back to me. It is one of the areas in my life where I can just be Jude, the hugely anxious, gender neutral, queer person I am.”
